The St. Regis Red Sea Resort
The St. Regis Red Sea Resort is Saudi Arabia's first private-island overwater resort, on Ummahat Island in The Red Sea, surrounded by pristine coral reefs in Tabuk Province. Reached by a twenty-five-minute seaplane from Red Sea International Airport, or by chartered or speed boat, it is a deliberate, premium fly-in island — transfers to factor into any itinerary. Opened in late 2023, it is renewable-powered and designed by Kengo Kuma, with 90 one-to-four-bedroom villas, each with a private pool, sundeck and outdoor shower. Two forms set the tone: beachfront Dune Villas of around 75 square metres, some facing the sunset, and overwater Coral Villas on elevated walkways with direct sea access, up to a 349-square-metre four-bedroom Presidential villa. Dining runs from the all-day Mediterranean Nesma to the Japanese-inspired Gishiki 45, the overwater grill Tilina, a Beach Club and the St Regis Bar, whose signature Coral Mary is a mocktail — the resort, like the country, is alcohol-free. The St Regis spa, world-class reef diving and snorkelling, kayaking, catamaran sailing, St Regis butler service and deck stargazing fill the days, with a high-tech fitness centre alongside. A MICHELIN Key holder, it is a remote, ultra-luxury island on untouched reefs.
