Banyan Tree AlUla

Banyan Tree AlUla is an all-villa desert wellness sanctuary in AlUla's Ashar Valley, set beneath sandstone cliffs about 15 kilometres from Hegra, Saudi Arabia's first UNESCO World Heritage Site. Around thirty minutes from AlUla International Airport, with direct flights from Dubai and connections via Riyadh or Jeddah, it is an intentionally low-density retreat built for seclusion more than big-resort bustle. Its 47 tented villas — permanent structures under tent shades, in one to three bedrooms and many with private pools, each with a bathroom patio and an external fire pit — rise to a 240-square-metre Three-Bedroom Pool Villa with a ten-seat dining table and a secluded terrace. The iconic Rock Pool is carved between the cliffs and naturally treated, and the Banyan Tree spa works through the brand's holistic pillars with yoga and meditation. Dining runs from the all-day Harrat, set among local arts and crafts, to the signature Thai Saffron, with Bedouin tent barbecues and storytelling, gourmet picnics among ancient ruins and in-villa pool breakfasts. Days fill with hot-air ballooning over the canyons at dawn, horseback desert riding, canyon hiking and stargazing under dark desert skies, with Hegra and the wider AlUla heritage close by. Holder of a MICHELIN Key, it is an alcohol-free sanctuary for serene desert seclusion.
