InterContinental Aqaba Resort

InterContinental Aqaba is Jordan's Red Sea beach and dive base, with the largest private sandy beach in Aqaba and coral reefs on the doorstep. On the Gulf of Aqaba in southern Jordan, around fifteen minutes from King Hussein International and a ten-minute walk from downtown, it is the relaxing bookend to a Jordan cultural tour — Petra is about two hours away and Wadi Rum about one. Its spacious rooms and suites have floor-to-ceiling windows and sea, lagoon, pool or city balconies, from partial-sea Classic Rooms to Red Sea-view Deluxe Rooms, lagoon-facing rooms and sea-view suites. Around six restaurants span the international Corniche buffet, the al-fresco Lebanese Bourj Al Hamam, the Italian Deli Cafe, the market-style seafood Beach Front by the shore and the wine-cellar fine dining of Cote D'Or, with alcohol and wine served. The spa keeps hot tubs, steam, sauna and a jacuzzi with a gym, while a roughly 200-square-metre lagoon-style pool, a year-round heated Garden pool and a heated kids' pool sit among artistic fountains. The Red Sea brings world-class coral-reef snorkelling and scuba diving straight off the beach, with windsurfing and watersports off Aqaba's largest private beach. An established resort with a kids' club, it is the easy beach close to a Jordan journey, an hour from the desert of Wadi Rum.
