Four Seasons Resort at Peninsula Papagayo

The Four Seasons at Peninsula Papagayo occupies a private Guanacaste headland between Culebra Bay and the open Pacific, with two beaches and a Forbes Five-Star pedigree. Around a hundred and eighty rooms, suites, residences and villas spread across some eleven categories, many tree-house-style in indigenous wood and stone climbing the hillside, from around six hundred square feet up through canopy plunge-pool suites and multi-bedroom residences to the Miramar presidential suite with its own infinity pool. The only Arnold Palmer course in Central America winds across the peninsula, alongside five tennis courts, while several infinity pools include a vast freshwater pool of around ten thousand square feet, a children's pool and private plunge pools. Dining runs to a steakhouse, an Italian by the water, crudos and tapas, a wood-burning Latin grill and Costa Rican street food, and a full-service spa adds four couples' suites and yoga. Two beaches give onto snorkelling, boating, surfing and paddleboarding, with kids' and teen programmes alongside. Liberia is around forty minutes away, on a room-only base — an apex family, multi-generational and golf resort on its own Pacific peninsula.
