Andaz Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo

Andaz Costa Rica is the design-led, lifestyle resort on Peninsula Papagayo — Ronald Zurcher's cocoon-like, shell-inspired architecture on a hillside over Culebra Bay, the first Andaz in Latin America, within the fourteen-hundred-acre Papagayo community by the marina. Around a hundred and fifty-three rooms and twenty-one suites, plus villas and residences, open through floor-to-ceiling windows to river-stone rain showers and bird's-nest balconies, with a complimentary minibar throughout, rising through plunge-pool suites to a two-bedroom Presidential Suite and multi-bedroom villas with private pools. Three beaches on Playa Nacascolo and a clutch of pools split an adults-only infinity pool from a family freeform pool, while the eleven-thousand-square-foot ONDA spa runs nine indoor-and-outdoor suites, a steam-and-cold-plunge circuit, a sound bath and antigravity yoga. Dining spans Ostra's seafood with Southeast-Asian notes, Latin tapas with live music, a Mediterranean-Latin beachfront and a beach house, and Papagayo Explorers fills the days with an aerial course, mountain biking and off-roading, with Arnold Palmer golf nearby. Liberia is around thirty to thirty-five minutes away, on a room-only base — the Pura Vida lifestyle-luxury character on the peninsula, for families, couples and design travellers.
