Six Senses Fiji

Six Senses Fiji is eco-luxury that means it — the resort runs entirely on solar power and Tesla batteries, the largest microgrid in Fiji, and it holds Two Michelin Keys. Spread over 120 acres along a half-mile sunset-facing beach at Vunabaka Bay on Malolo Island, the largest of the Mamanucas, it is around thirty to thirty-five minutes by speedboat from Port Denarau or roughly ten minutes by helicopter or seaplane from Nadi. There are 24 one- and two-bedroom pool villas of around 110 to 150 square metres, in wood and rattan with vaulted ceilings, outdoor baths, Naturalmat organic beds and sundecks, plus multi-bedroom residences of around 600 to 1,000 square metres on the island's west side over the bay — around ten built so far of a planned sixty, each with a private pool, a full kitchen and a complimentary nanny for up to eight hours a day. The basis is bed-and-breakfast with a-la-carte dining, not all-inclusive, across Tovolea for all-day beachfront Pacific cooking, RaRa for pan-Asian with a gourmet deli and ice creamery, the interactive TeiTei pizzeria by the herb gardens with an outdoor cinema, and the Alchemy Bar, with estate gardens, hens, beehives and an on-site water-bottling plant supplying the kitchens. The Six Senses Spa sits within a Wellness Village, with the signature Fijian Bobo Massage of warm herb poultices, Ayurveda and the Six Senses Integrated Wellness programme in one- to seven-night formats for sleep, immunity, brain health and fitness. The sustainability runs deep — a tiger-worm septic system, food-waste composting turned to fertiliser, treated wastewater for irrigation, coral and tree reforestation, and sensors that switch off the air-conditioning when a villa door opens. The activities are led by the Surf Academy by Tropicsurf, with beginners' lessons in the sheltered bay and expert sessions out at the world-famous Cloudbreak some twenty minutes away by boat and at Namotu Left; PADI and SSI dive courses begin in the villa pool and run to sites a ten-minute boat ride away; and a 41-foot catamaran sails to deserted Modriki Island for snorkelling and a picnic.
