Royal Davui Island Resort

Royal Davui is a sixteen-villa adults-only private island in legendary Beqa Lagoon, a private ten-acre island south of Viti Levu wrapped by a protected barrier reef where no fishing is allowed within around a mile. Each freestanding villa is elevated across the island for seclusion, with its own climate-controlled plunge pool, a separate living area, an oversized deck and an open-air bathroom, in warm timber under a thatched roof. Reached by a thirty-to-thirty-five-minute flight from Nadi to Pacific Harbour and then a thirty-five-minute speedboat across the lagoon — with complimentary return transfers on stays of five to seven nights or more — it is intimate and romance-focused, for couples, honeymooners, weddings and divers. Dining is a-la-carte under a centuries-old banyan at the Banyan Restaurant, daily-changing and around eighty per cent local with fresh seafood and no buffets, alongside the ocean-facing Sunset Lounge and dinners out on the Sand Cay sandbank. All meals are included — breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus sunset canapes and non-motorised water sports — though beverages are charged a-la-carte, with no generic drinks package. The Davui Spa runs Fijian rituals and sunrise yoga, every villa has its own plunge pool, and the lagoon is the draw: more than a hundred dive sites with soft corals, walls and wrecks, the world-famous Fiji shark dive minutes away, a champagne picnic on your own deserted sandbank one couple at a time, kava ceremonies and house-reef snorkelling in the protected sanctuary.
