Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora

Four Seasons Bora Bora was voted French Polynesia's number-one resort in Travel + Leisure's 2024 World's Best Awards, and it earns it on space and polish. On the private motu of Tehotu in eastern Bora Bora, facing Mount Otemanu and around fifteen minutes by boat from the airport, it gathers 85 overwater bungalow suites, 15 specialty overwater suites with private plunge pools and seven over-acre beachfront villa estates of one to three bedrooms — plus a private dining island reached only by canoe. The Polynesian-village design, by local architect Pierre-Jean Picart with BAMO and Didier Lefort, runs through teak furnishings, tattoo-pattern textiles and mother-of-pearl accents; the overwater suites top a thousand square feet, and the beachfront estates spread over an acre with large private pools, secluded beaches and a dedicated Villa Host. Dining moves between Arii Moana for French-Mediterranean fine dining, the all-day beachfront Tere Nui where the included breakfast is served, the overwater Vaimiti for Asian plates and sunset cocktails, and the Fare Hoa beach bar and fish house. The waterfront Spa offers holistic and in-bungalow treatments scented with vanilla and black pearl, an infinity pool edges into the lagoon with cabanas, and a private lagoon sanctuary brings complimentary guided snorkelling among rays, turtles and reef fish. Catamaran cruises, kayaking, windsurfing, a shark-feed snorkel and Polynesian fire-dance shows fill the days — the Bora Bora icon that genuinely works for families as well as honeymooners.
