Curtain Bluff

Curtain Bluff has been an Antigua icon since 1962, set on a bluff between two beaches — calm Bay Beach for swimming and watersports, and the wilder Atlantic Surf Beach. Its all-inclusive is genuinely comprehensive: meals, drinks, room service, the minibar, full watersports, a championship tennis centre with coaching, and twice-daily snorkel trips out to Cades Reef are all included, with only the spa and premium wines extra. The seventy-two sea-view rooms and suites climb the bluff with floor-to-ceiling windows, terraces and no televisions, for an immersive, unplugged feel, and the Hulford Collection suites at the top add private infinity pools. Dining runs to two restaurants, a wine cellar and afternoon tea, and a spa of around five thousand square feet sits out over the sea. Around 35 minutes from the airport, and typically closed from mid-August to late October, it is the distinctive, intimate icon of the Antigua set — not a party resort.
