Carlisle Bay

Carlisle Bay is a contemporary all-suite Leading Hotels of the World resort on Antigua's quiet south coast, set in a horseshoe bay where a white-sand beach meets the rainforest. The design is clean and low-rise, and clever zoning runs through it: family suites gather at one end, while the adults-only Bay Suites and the Jetty Grill sit at the other, so couples and families share the bay without crossing paths. Days fill easily, with nine tennis courts and a coaching programme, a PADI dive centre, paddleboards and kayaks, a cinema and a library, and the CARA Organic Spa working with ESPA. The eighty-seven suites all carry daybeds on their terraces, from Garden and split-level Ocean suites through family Beach Suites to the butler-serviced adults-only Bay Suites. Dining runs across four restaurants, from beach grills to pan-Asian, and the flexible bed-and-breakfast or all-inclusive basis lets you take it as you wish. Around 35 to 45 minutes from the airport, it is the do-everything south-coast all-suite.
