Anse Chastanet

Anse Chastanet is the original St Lucia luxury resort, an eco-immersed 600-acre estate above two soft-sand beaches in a marine reserve at Soufriere — home to some of the Windwards' best beach diving through the on-site Scuba St Lucia, and the nature-led, barefoot counterpart to the island's grander open-wall resorts. Forty-nine individually designed rooms in hillside gazebos, some with an open fourth wall, pair with twelve beach villas, in mahogany floors, open rainforest showers and no televisions, framing views of both Pitons. Four restaurants — the Treehouse for breakfast and Caribbean dinner, the beachside Trou au Diable, the East-Indian and Caribbean Apsara and the farm-to-table vegetarian Emeralds, fed from the Emerald Estate — anchor the dining, the Kai Belte spa works from five rooms and a sea-view cabana, and jungle biking and hiking trace the Anse Mamin plantation. Mostly adult, with children welcome from July to September, it is around fifty-five minutes to an hour from Hewanorra or a short helicopter hop.
