Ladera Resort

Ladera is the only resort on the UNESCO World Heritage Site, perched on a volcanic ridge around eleven hundred feet up at Soufriere, directly between the two Pitons on a former cocoa plantation — the most intimate and romantic of the island's open-wall resorts, and the only one literally on the ridge. Its pioneering open-fourth-wall suites, thirty-seven in all with three walls open to the peaks and the sea, each have a private heated plunge pool and no televisions, from the Petit Piton category up to the Paradise Ridge enclave and villas, in handcrafted local hardwood, stone and clay. The award-winning, farm-to-table Dasheene serves open-air St Lucian cooking with Piton views, and the Wine Room holds more than two thousand bottles for six-course private dinners. A Green Globe certification underpins a stay built squarely for romance; the dining is a single celebrated restaurant, and there is no beach on-site, with a short complimentary shuttle to the sand. It is around forty-five minutes to an hour from Hewanorra or a short helicopter hop.
