The Sandpiper

The Sandpiper is the relaxed, contemporary counterpart to Coral Reef Club, set in seven acres of tropical gardens on a white-sand bay at Holetown and owned by the same O'Hara family — a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, about half a mile from its sister hotel. Its open-sided garden restaurant, set among koi ponds, is rated among the finest on the island, drawing on European, Asian and Caribbean fusion, with Harold's Beach Bar by the sand. Around fifty keys run from garden rooms through one- and two-bedroom suites to three Tree Top Suites with private plunge pools, the Curlew the most coveted, beachfront with uninterrupted sea views. A free shuttle and exchange dining connect it to Coral Reef Club, whose spa it shares, on a bed-and-breakfast or half-board base around forty-five minutes from the airport. It welcomes families with a creche, a kids' programme and sailing, though children under twelve are not accommodated from mid-January to end-February, and the resort closes annually from early August to early October.
