Overview
A Zanzibar beach to finish your safari
LUX Marijani

LUX Marijani is the beach finish to a Tanzania safari — a boutique resort on Pwani Mchangani, on Zanzibar's north-east coast, in whitewashed Swahili-Arab design with terrazzo tiles and hand-carved Zanzibari doors. After the bush, this is where the trip slows down: around 82 rooms and suites with balconies, an infinity pool above a private white-sand beach, the LUX* ME spa, and creative Zanzibar-spice cooking at Mwamba, octopus in spiced coconut among it. The island's spice-trade culture is part of the appeal — spice tours with a miniature garden on site, dhow cruises, beach cinema under the stars, and Stone Town a day trip away. This is one of the island's best beaches, and the north-east coast has a real tide: at low water it draws right out to reveal the reef flats and the 'seaweed mamas' tending their seaweed beds, a sight in itself. Board is flexible, from bed and breakfast to all-inclusive. (Zanzibar is also a destination in its own right on our list; here it is the Tanzania page's coast finish.) A stylish, easygoing close to a safari, for couples, families and honeymooners.

Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti
The Four Seasons Safari Lodge is the largest and most resort-like property in the Serengeti — elevated on wooden platforms above two waterholes in the heart of the park. Its signature is a free-form infinity pool that looks straight onto an elephant waterhole, a 'mini-safari' from the water. Seventy-seven rooms, suites and free-standing villas spread across contemporary African interiors, with the villas adding plunge pools and personal attendants. Three restaurants, a wine cellar, the six-room Kani Spa, a Discovery Centre, a Maasai Boma and a kids' club make it the Serengeti's most family-capable luxury option — a polished, comfortable base at resort scale.

Singita Sasakwa Lodge
Singita Sasakwa is a grand Edwardian-manor lodge atop Sasakwa Hill, in the 350,000-acre private Singita Grumeti Reserve — part of the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem and on the Great Migration path. Around ten units, from one-bedroom cottages to a four-bedroom villa, each carry a private infinity or plunge pool over the plains, alongside manor antiques, fireplaces and four-posters. The private concession means exclusive, low-density game drives and the western-corridor Grumeti-River crossings, while the lodge's own equestrian centre, tennis courts, archery and croquet make it one of the most distinctive ultra-luxury safari icons in Africa — all-inclusive down to premium wines and spirits.

Tanzania
Meliá Serengeti Lodge
The Meliá Serengeti Lodge is a comfortable, well-priced two-storey lodge on the Nyamuma Hills in the central Serengeti, overlooking the Mbalageti River valley. Fifty rooms — Lagoon View and Savannah Panoramic, plus two-bedroom Serengeti Suites for families — share an infinity pool that looks out over the plains, with migration views in peak season. It runs on a flexible B&B basis with an optional safari add-on you can tailor, and a Kids & Co program makes it family-friendly. It is the page's value base — a mid-range lodge to anchor a Serengeti trip, sold honestly on comfort and price.
