Llao Llao Resort, Golf & Spa

Llao Llao is an Alejandro Bustillo masterpiece of 1938, a Leading Hotels of the World grande-dame standing on a hill between Lakes Nahuel Huapi and Moreno in Nahuel Huapi National Park, framed by Cerro Lopez and Mount Tronador. Around two hundred and five rooms and suites spread across the original Ala Bustillo and the 2007 Ala Moreno in classic mountain-hotel style, many with lake or Andes views; some rooms have no air-conditioning, by mountain-climate design. A private eighteen-hole golf course runs across the grounds, a full-service spa and health club adds sauna, hydrotherapy and yoga with heated indoor and outdoor infinity pools, a marina and a beach, and the famous afternoon Tea remains a ritual. Dining runs to Patagonian lamb at the Asador Criollo, all-day family dining at the Restaurant Patagonia and Llao Llao craft beer at the Moreno Lake Lounge. The setting is the heart of the Patagonian lakes on the Circuito Chico, around half an hour to an hour from Bariloche, on a bed-and-breakfast base — a resort as family-friendly as it is grand, for families, couples and active travellers among the lakes and peaks. The setting is Argentina's Lake District, often called the Argentine Switzerland, with the chocolate town of San Carlos de Bariloche, the Cerro Campanario viewpoint and Bustillo's own Bariloche civic centre all within reach.
